Moving a team to Dubai: the checklist we use

Visas, contracts, schooling and equity: the order in which to do things.

A relocation fails on details: a visa that arrives after the start date, a school place that is not confirmed, an equity plan that no longer works in the new country. This is the order we follow.

Weeks 1 to 2

Agree the new contracts and the visa sponsor. Decide early whether employees move on a local contract or stay seconded, because that choice drives tax, benefits and end-of-service pay.

Weeks 3 to 8

Run visas, medicals and the equity plan update in parallel. Book school assessments in the same weeks; a place at the start of the school year is often the real deadline.

After arrival

Register employees for the required health insurance and update payroll in the first month. We review the file again at three months to catch anything the move has changed.
